Greetings Convention Attendees,
This year we are dealing with circumstances that have changed the way a “normal” convention is operated. Let’s go over some of what will be different.
This year we are dealing with circumstances that have changed the way a “normal” convention is operated. Let’s go over some of what will be different.
- 1) There will be only one way into the showroom. It will be off parking lot “J”. (Refer to page 68 in the convention catalog or to the maps in this attachment) Signage will direct you to the check-in area.
- 2) When you arrive, you must first come into the building and get your check-in packet.
- 3) We will then do a visual inspection on all animals entering the building. Animals will not be removed from their carriers. This procedure is for the protection of everyone and their animals. *Please refer to the checklist for areas of concern. *
- 4) If after inspection your animals are deemed “clear” you will be allowed to enter the showroom to cage your animals.
- 5) If upon inspection, an area of concern is found, your animal(s) will be sent to an isolation/quarantine area. Each animal in quarantine will be inspected the following day to check on its health. If after the follow up inspection the animal is given the “all clear”, it then will be released into the showroom. If the condition of the animal has not changed it will remain in quarantine.
- 6) Animals will be released on Wednesday, October 27. All animals and exhibitors will exit the building from the same area where check-in occurred.
- 7) You must first pick up your check-out packet before you get in line.
- 8) Tattoo numbers will be checked against your check-out packet paperwork
and or sales slips. - 9) This will take some time; patience will be required.
If an exhibitor cages their animals without going through the visual inspection area upon arrival to the convention, their entire entry will be scratched from the show.
With the states of Mississippi and Minnesota having confirmed RHDV2 cases, here are the following rules for showing in this year’s ARBA convention.
Per ARBA show/convention guidelines: Section 15 (D):In part- “A host club must refuse entries from exhibitors placing an entry from all locations within 125 miles, which had a confirmed outbreak of RCV/RHD/VHD in domestic rabbits within the past 60 days of the entry deadline.
If an exhibitor lives in a state with a confirmed RHDV2 case BUT lives outside the 125-mile radius they are allowed to show at this year’s convention, PROVIDED they have health certificates for their animals.
For exhibitors who live in bordering states that live outside the 125-mile radius, health certificates are not required.
Exhibitors are encouraged to bring food and water bowls for all animals. Due to COVID-19, the pandemic has created a shortage of steel for food grade containers and a normal supply of cans will not be available.
Please see enclosed maps for directions and showroom layout.
Once again this is not a “normal” convention year. We ask everyone to come and see what we missed out on last year. Be with others who share this wonderful hobby and enjoy your time in Louisville.
